Anthony, Texas K9 Wessel Passes PDF Print E-mail
 
On September 9th K9  Wessel passed after fighting neurological issues with his hind quarters which caused his retirement in July. K9 Wessel was a valued member on the Anthony Texas Police Department. He will be missed by the department, the community , and especially by his canine handler Linda Hart-Goggin.
 
Tupelo K9 Bo Apprehends a Shooting Suspect PDF Print E-mail

On Thursday 09-15-11 at approximately 8:37pm Tupelo Police Officers responded to a shooting. Upon arrival Officers found the victim to be in critical condition, shot in the face. Witnesses  stated that the suspect had fled into an adjacent wooded area . K9 Officers Officer Zach Anderson and Walter Wilkerson received suspect description and direction of travel. K9 Officer Zach Anderson and his K9 partner Bo initiated a track with K9 Officer Wilkerson following as a cover officer. K9 Bo found the suspect lying face up with weapon in hand. K9 Bo engaged and apprehended the suspect giving officers the necessary time and cover to arrest the suspect without further incident

 
Hart County Seminar and Certification Event a Hugh Sucesses PDF Print E-mail
Hart County Seminar and Certification event was a hugh sucesses. There was wide range of handler and canine from new teams to seasoned teams. The teams were exposed to a wide range of exercises and different amounts of training aids. Thanks to the Hart County Sheriff's and Captain Hinson for hosting this event. Thanks to all the hard work from Woodruff Police Department K-9 Division that assited with the instructing. Thanks to all the teams that attended from different agencies.
 
Vicksburg K9 Ranger Apprehends Three Buglary Suspects PDF Print E-mail
On 08/01/2011  K-9 Officer Rick McDaniel of the Vicksburg Police Department responded to a Burglary in Progress Call on Dog Wood Lane. Upon arrival the home owner advised three males broke into his home and stole two large flat screen television and two guns. He stated they left thru the back of the residence. K-9 Ranger  instantly picked the track up. After approxamately 1 mile K-9 Ranger  located the suspects in the wooded area and all three gave up after a K-9 command was given. All items taken in the Burglary was recovered with the suspects

Crittenden County K9 "Patch" Passes PDF Print E-mail
On 9-7-2010 Crittenden County K9 "Patch" had to be put down. Deputy Briggs Keeton and Patch are members of the NNDDA. Patch a 11 year old Belgium Malinois had worked with Deputy Keeton for the past 7 years. Our Department will miss Patch on the streets of Crittenden County. Patch became sick this past month and lost his fight today
 
Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office K9 Possum Passes While On Man Hunt PDF Print E-mail

On August 27, 2011, Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call that a suspect was fighting with a State Trooper. K-9 Possum and his handler Deputy Paul Finn were called out after the suspect got away from the trooper. Shortly into the track, Possum suffered a major seizure. Although deputies were able to cool him immediately with water from a nearby home and perform CPR, K-9 Possum died while en route to the vet. The cause of the seizure is unknown, although veterinarians consulted in the case indicated the possibility of a brain tumor or other neurological/vascular abnormality.

Laredo ISD Police K9 Mocha Passes PDF Print E-mail
On Sunday 6/12/2011, at 9:45 A.M., K-9 Mocha, a Laredo, Texas Police Narcotics Detection Dog, passed away in his home.  Mocha gave 5- good years to the Laredo I.S.D. Police Department. More importantly, he became a best friend and part of the family. He was the first working dog and partner for over 5 years to canine handler Antulio Garza.
